Travel Oregon To Get To The Oregon Coast

traveling oregon, airlines, trains, bus, travel services, vacation planning

To get to the great state of Oregon, there are various modes of travel. Oregon will more than likely be your connection to the beaches and you need to get to point A before you proceed to point B, right? Depending upon how much of a hurry you are in will determine how you get there. Here are a few to consider:

  • Car
Although a car trip is going to take longer to get anywhere, in ways, it is a big advantage. And if you have the time, why not? If you want to take in the absolutely gorgeous scenery as you travel Oregon, a car trip may be the perfect solution.

North and South are best traveled via Interstate 5, while Interstate 84 serves friends from the East.

  • Boat
Unfortunately, there are really no good ways to get to Portland by boat.

  • Bus
Greyhound provides bus service along the West coast.

  • Train
There are 3 trains that people use to travel Oregon. Amtrak provides service all up and down the west coast. Running the ENTIRE west coast (Seattle-Portland-San Francisco Bay Area-Los Angeles) is the Coast Starlight service. Finally, working everything to the east (Portland-Spokane-Glacier Nat'l Park-Minneapolis/St Paul-Milwaukee-Chicago) is The Empire Builder. All trips end at Portland's Union Station.

I make most of my travel arrangements through the Internet. It's convenient, useable and I can shop in peace. A few of the more popular options:

My choice for the most-user friendly is TripAdvisor. My idea of a great site is one where I can find the information easily and not get lost. TripAdvisor provides the great info I need and has customer reviews. I always find it nice to hear from a fellow traveler on what they liked and disliked.

You'll find some great vacation and travel deals on Travelocity. Touting some of the lowest and most competitive prices in the travel industry, you can buy airline tickets, book hotels, grab rental cars and more.

Travelocity Saves You on Flights, Hotels, Car Rentals, Cruises and More. Saving money on travel packages is a passion of mine! ;)

Travel Oregon as inexpensively as you can. Shop around to find the best deals to suit your needs and wants. That's why I've supplied you with multiple choices. Of course, you're going to want a great place to stay to make that special memory, so never scrimp on that. You don't want to end up in the dog house with your significant other! ;) Aside from that, save money where you can. It's always a much better vacation when you have a good amount of spending money, rather than wasting it all on getting there. Shop wisely and you'll enjoy yourself a lot more.

The Oregon state tourism slogan is "Oregon: We Love Dreamers." Oregon is a place for adventurers and dreamers; no doubt about it.
